WHICH WAY SHOULD I TURN?

What do you usually do when you find yourself stuck at a red light and need to figure out which way to turn?  Do you just pick a direction, thinking that if it doesn't work out you can just turn around?  Do you need to talk to everybody about it, all the while being optimistic that whichever direction you go will be great?  Do you sit there as long as you possibly can, carefully planning your next move?  Or do you pull the map out and analyze how you got to where you are, consider where you think you want to be, and figure out a road that will probably get you there?

Our personality, behavior style and values determine the paths we take when we need to Make The Right Turn On RedTM.  Some people make it look easy. They see the red light, check for oncoming obstacles, and turn.  They barely pause to think.

Others are more hesitant to turn.  They creep up to the red light very cautiously. Before they turn, they re-hash how and why they ended up at this red light, and evaluate all the options before they move ahead.  A few may think, “I’ve been in this place a thousand times and never got a red light before.” Others wonder “Why do I always get the red light?”

Whether you slide through the light without even stopping or you approach the light cautiously and think twice before turning doesn’t really matter. Either way you go and however you make the decision, sometimes it will work out, and sometimes it won't.  What really matters is that you don’t allow the red lights to make you stuck. What really matters is that you Make The Right Turn On Red™.  Although knowing how you approach the change can help, it doesn't matter how you make it.
